Parliament’s plan: Calling 23 government agencies and regulators to discuss reducing the periods of customs release

   

Dr. Hussein Issa, Chairman of the Committee of Plan and Budget of the House of Representatives, said that it was agreed with the Egyptian Customs Authority to prepare a list of 23 entities that deal with it, pointing out that those bodies will be called to listen to them and to know the obstacles and the reasons for the length of customs release in Egyptian ports. Issa said that there are other regulatory bodies have been added to the list of bodies to be heard by the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee on the new draft customs law, saying, "This week in addition to the drafting of articles must be resolved the issue of customs relationship with other bodies and bodies." Issa stressed the need to reduce the total period of customs release and coordination between the ministries and different authorities as a cross-cutting issue. This came during a meeting of the Committee on the Budget and Plan Committee of the House of Representatives, which is held today, chaired by Dr. Hussein Issa, Chairman of the Committee, to review the Prime Minister's decision to draft a law on the issuance of the Customs Law, in which the Committee will hear representatives of more than 20 ministries and government bodies, business associations, unions and chambers. The Committee listens to the representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Antiquities, the Ministry of Housing and the New Urban Communities Authority, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Customs Authority, the National Service Authority of the Ministry of Defense, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones. New and Renewable Energy Development and Use Authority, Nuclear Power Plants Authority, Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (along with representatives of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Chamber of Tourism, Egyptian Businessmen Association, Chamber of Commerce) American Chamber of Commerce, German Chamber of Commerce, General Union of NGOs, Export Council for Agricultural Crops).
